AGRAGEX structure

AGRAGEX is a non-profit association. The governing body of the association is its General Assembly formed by all its associated companies and which meets at the annual General Meeting, as established in its bylaws. There is also a Steering Committee, formed by a number of association companies representing the different subsectors that make up the association. This committee is the body that transfers the proposals and suggestions to the General Assembly while monitoring the association’s management.

Both the Steering Committee and the Association itself are chaired by the figure of the President.

Annual Memory

2018 will be remembered as the year of the big bet AGEX Group for the future.

On October 15, 2018 began the new project of our organization to be bigger, stronger and to increase and diversify the services we offer to our partners. In our new facilities in Leioa, a small municipality near Bilbao, we are prepared to face the new challenges of the 21st century. such as innovation and the development of new services beyond internationalization, which, although it remains the main focus of our work, we want it to be completed with other jobs that help our companies in their day to day. Innovation must be a component that must be increasingly present in our industry, especially when we want to be competitive. Have a Plan Innovation is not only a competitive advantage but a necessity for the survival of the company that wants to compete abroad.

2018 has turned out to be a year of transition, a strange exercise, apathetic in some aspects and full of great uncertainties, many of which will have to be resolved throughout 2019.

The political change that occurred in the middle of the year unexpectedly at the national level; brexit negotiations between the United Kingdom and the European Union, where a few weeks to finalize the timetable for the realization of UK output of the European Union, there is still no clear scenario for the future; again the return of sanctions against Iran, imposed last November 4 after several years in which all promised an improvement in the situation; or the controversial and unclear measures applied to trade with China, with special emphasis on the commercial war between China and the United States. These are just some examples of issues that have Spanish exporters in a permanent state of uncertainty, because after many months there are still many doubts raised.

The obstacles imposed to access the North American market have done a lot of damage to many companies. The slow decision-making of the EU to curb the entry of Chinese imports
endangers other European markets for our exports. The evolution of markets such as Venezuela, Turkey or Iran do not invite tranquility and draw a disturbing and uncertain 2019.
The statements of the last days of German politicians ending the days of fat cows do not encourage our companies precisely to look forward to the coming months.

We do not want from the AGEX Group to be pessimistic for a future in the short term uncertain. In fact, exporters, we know for many years that we manage in a global environment increasingly more interconnected, and where many decisions made in certain environments may affect premises globally. Therefore, we believe more than ever that employment and use by enterprises of services from the four associations of the AGEX Group offer our partners, are certainly a key element to look out to the outside with guarantees. Today, more than ever, unity is strength.

Given this changing environment, globalized and uncertain, again from the AGEX Group asked the Central Government to support today more than ever, companies and business associations in the internationalization of the industrial sector in Spain. A sector that represents almost 70% of our exports, technologically advanced and highly competitive internationally. The support for internationalization is undoubtedly a generating element of wealth, quality employment and visibility and recognition of a country.

Finally, I would like to thank once again all our partner companies for their trust in AGRAGEX and the public institutions for their support.
